On Sunday Feb. 27, 2000 volunteers manned open houses at the following parks and playlots.

37th St. Playlot from 2-4pm
Barranca Park from 2-4pm
Entrance Park from 2-3pm
East Park from 1-2pm
Fantasy (Pinocchio) Playlot from 1-3pm
Grand Canyon Playlot from 1-3pm
Jeffrey Playlot from 1-2pm
Mountain Meadows (Cinderella) Playlot from 1-3pm
North Mesa Picnic Area from 2-3pm
Orange St. Playlot from 2-3pm
Pine St. Playlot from 1-3 pm
Pinon (Rocket) Park from 1-4pm
Ridgeway Playlot from 1-2pm
San Ildefonso (Jurassic) Playlot from 2-4pm
Urban Park Play Area from 1-2pm
Walnut Street Playlot from 2-4pm
Western Area Park from 2-4pm

There were no open houses scheduled for the following.

Rover Park

We asked those who attended the open houses to provide the County input on how they would like to see the parks and playlots redesigned. We put together a flier describing the open houses and distributed copies through the grade schools, the day care centers, and door-to-door in various neighborhoods. It was also displayed as an ad in the Los Alamos Monitor. We want to give special credit to Fidel's Office Supplies & More for contributing a box of paper and other office supplies, to LANB and Aspen Copies for the use of their copying machine, and to the Diane Soran Foundation for paying for the ad.
